Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 April 2026

At Qurbani.World, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with the utmost care, transparency, and respect — in accordance with Islamic principles and applicable data protection laws.

Secure by Design

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

No Data Selling

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

Your Rights Matter

Access, correct, or delete your data anytime.

01

Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you register an account, place an order, or contact us, we collect personal data including but not limited to your name, email address, phone number, billing address, and payment details needed to process your Qurbani or Sadaqah.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our platform — including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and device identifiers. This helps us improve our service and security.

Transaction Data

Records of all purchases, order histories, and payment confirmations are stored securely to provide you with receipts, resolve disputes, and comply with financial regulations.

02

How We Use Your Information

Order Fulfilment

Your personal information is primarily used to process and fulfil your Qurbani, Aqiqah, and Sadaqah orders — including arranging slaughter, issuing confirmations, and delivering reports and images of your animal.

Communication

We use your contact details to send order confirmations, updates on your Qurbani status, important platform notices, and (with your consent) promotional newsletters. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time.

Service Improvement

Aggregated usage data is analysed to identify trends, fix bugs, and improve the overall user experience on Qurbani.World. This data is anonymised and never linked back to individual users in reports.

Legal Compliance

We may process your data to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory requirements, and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Qurbani.World, our users, or others.

03

Data Sharing & Third Parties

Payment Processors

Payments are processed securely through Razorpay. Your financial details are transmitted directly to Razorpay and are governed by their privacy policy. We do not store full card details on our servers.

Slaughter Partners

To fulfil your order, we share your name and the names of those on whose behalf Qurbani is being performed with our vetted partner abattoirs and Islamic scholars on the ground. No other personal data is shared.

Service Providers

We engage trusted third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, email, analytics) who process data solely on our behalf and are bound by strict data processing agreements.

No Selling of Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their independent marketing or commercial purposes — ever.

04

Data Security

Encryption

All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is protected by TLS/SSL encryption. Sensitive fields such as passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing algorithms.

Access Controls

Access to personal data within Qurbani.World is restricted to authorised staff on a need-to-know basis. All team members are trained on data handling best practices.

Incident Response

In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law.

05

Managing Cookies

06

Your Rights

You may object to certain types of processing or request that we restrict processing of your data in specific circumstances.

07

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with our services.

After Account Closure

Following account deletion, we retain minimal data (e.g., transaction records) for up to 7 years as required by South African tax and financial regulations.

08

Children's Privacy
